Another Bubkiss Update:

Yesterday I worked from home. At about 6PM I started to work on a document for Lev and was pretty engrossed in it. I heard Bubbie barking occasionally (she was outside) but I didn’t pay much attention. At about 7:15 she was going crazy. I decided to investigate….. I went out back and whistled her signature song (please see other post titled:  Bridge over the River Kwai) and she just kept barking. I went out front and there….OUTSIDE THE GATE sat BUBBIE barking up a storm to get into the yard!

We looked EVERYWHERE for how she could have gotten out and the ONLY options we decided were these:

1. The screen was displaced in the moving glass doors in the living room – and one panel was slightly ajar and someone might have tried to enter the house while I was working – and decided to let the dog out so they wouldn’t have to deal with her. In this case, the constant barking was a warning to me and the person must have given up.
2. The water man came to read the meter and inadvertently let her out (not usually at 6PM though)
3. Another dog may have come and jumped on the door of the gate (which opens easily inward) and she went out to play.

We can’t figure this out…but one thing we always worried about was that she would “run” if let out of the yard. We’re not too worried about that now. She was trying for about 1.5 hours to get back in!  Last night she wouldn’t let me out of her sight and slept from the moment she came into the house after her “adventure” – she was exhausted….
