Know the Toys!

I am so sorry I’m behind with the pictures. She’s growing so fast and is JUST AS SWEET as day one. Some new tricks are being prepared for your trip:

Kiss (already described)

  • Chase (a new slant on an old “trick”)
  • Rope (a new improvisation to MUSH)
  • Catch (she’s getting REALLY good)
  • Walk (she grabs her leash and takes it to the front door/front gate)

I’m working with her on identifying toys. I have this feeling she uses them to communicate. For instance. There is one I pack with some treats before we leave in the morning and afternoon for work. I call it TREAT. When I got home tonight for the first time (I know she’s hungry) she grabbed the treat toy and kept jumping on me. In the past she would have just started to bite me to make me understand that she’s hungry. But now she’s using the treat toy. Maybe it was just a fluke….

She’s so cute. I’ll try for some pics – but the best will be when you’re here. The pictures are hard to get because she doesn’t do a lot of these “tricks” with Gabe so I sort of have to photograph myself while working with here. Some things she’s NOT so good at:  Come; walking on the leash – sometimes yes, sometimes she pulls so hard my hand falls off. I was walking with her and Gabe and she would stay with Gabe. I would walk half a block and call her. She would come running so fast – like a white streak and receive a treat. Then the last couple of times we tried it, she went beserk and started to run all over the place (in the street). So, we don’t do that “trick” anymore. I would like to give her the opportunity to run more but I’m too afraid of letting her “go” because she has NO JUDGEMENT or car sense.

Maybe you can advise when you’re here. So far now, she’s really good when we eat (she stopped jumping on us and we don’t feed her AT ALL from the table). GREAT dog….can’t WAIT for you to be here with all of us.
