Hey Eric!
I wanted to update you about Bubkiss and her peeing in the house. WE WERE CAUSING IT! Apparently some dogs have an allergy to milk (they are lactose intolerant). It causes a lot of problems such as frequent itching, scratching and all kinds of bowl/urinary problems. She was peeing about 20 times/day and I thought maybe a bladder infection or stone. So, I started to looks things up on the internet and found out about milk. We were giving her a bowl with every meal PLUS left over yogurts and cottage cheese from our breakfasts and lunches.
Two days ago I stopped it all. She’s just on steak, chicken, treats and dog food – that’s it! AND she is completely housebroken – in two days (no accidents). I read that you can’t possibly train a dog to go outside when they have urinary frequency. Since she’s such a good dog and such a pleaser I was so confused about why she kept peeing in the house.
So, she’s now perfect. Hardly ANY scratching and totally trained house trained. I feel bad that, in our plan to be so nice to her, we actually were causing her discomfort and to wet in the house! She’s SO CUTE now – I’ll tell you some more stories when we next speak!!
